Mother's Help

These applicants are a fantastic solution for busy parents who need a step up from an au pair but don’t quite need an experienced and qualified nanny.

All our applicants have relevant experience either in the UK or abroad and are happy to work alongside a mum or take sole charge of the children for some hours in the day.

A mother’s help can either live in or out and do either full-time or part time hours. These applicants have a long-term interest in childcare, often moving on to be professional nannies.

The main focus of a mother’s help is on childcare. They are able to cook fresh, healthy meals for your children and carry out light household chores related to children.

A mother’s help is not a cleaner and should not be asked to carry out significant household duties. They will of course be happy to support a busy mum with general light housekeeping like unpacking a dishwasher, loading and unloading laundry and running some errands including grocery shopping.

Our applicants are often in the UK already but may be coming from abroad. Many interviews are conducted over Skype and a mother’s help will pay for their own travel to come to the UK.

Mother’s helps usually earn around £250 per week depending on their relevant experience and the number of hours they are expected to work. Families are expected to pay tax and NI as well as employer’s liability insurance for their mother’s helps.
